Hi Sherri,

Pulsing simply means to take small breaks in your abx regimen...you can pulse many ways and with several abx at the same time.

For instance - say you are prescribed Doxycycline and you are told to take it Mon - Wed - Fri that is pulsing. Or, common w/IV is to use IV 4 days on 3 days off - that also is pulsing. Some pulse 2 or more abx, I have a friend pulsing IV every other day and on the days she doesn't do IV she will do an oral abx.

Pulsing abx can be very effective.

Did I explain it ok?

Dana

Dana,

Thank you. Now I understand. Do you know why doctors recommend it? Just in case I ever need to talk to my doc about it.

I can't tell you all enough how Pulse Therapy has helped me. I have been doing it for almost 2 weeks. And let me tell u 2 weeks ago I was Herxing and depressed.

I feel better with each day. I did get filled again with the Holy Ghost on Sunday at church, so Praise God. Every morning the 1st thing I do is go to my pill box and take a pain med, then I make coffee. The last 2 mornings I made coffee and started with my morning and it wasn't till much later that I realized that I did not go to my pill box. I was like WOW. God is already working.

So any how's I like Pule Therapy, it has helped me.

Blesses

Our LLMd recommended pulsing for my son on one abx that created tremendous herxing (increase in symptoms from the bacteria die-off). It should help make herxing less severe and sticking w/an abx more tolerable.

The "goal" is to make treatment more tolerable. Herxing too hard is NOT good. Herxing is a sign that the abx is working, but it also means a toxin overload, so pulsing helps give the body a small break. It will likely depend on how well you handle any certain abx. If you can handle it daily then that is great, if not your LLMD (or you could ask) may recommend pulsing.

Many will say that when in lyme treatment high doses and multiple abx is important. But I can tell you effective treatment takes time, as my LLMD says "It is a marathon, not a race". So finding a protocol and regimen that works for you without causing overboard misery (we all will herx) really should be the goal.
