Maybe someone has experienced this...

I was kneeling the other day and my knee "popped" loudly...it did not hurt. Actually I have had that feeling before and no pain and it meant nothing. It feels like my knee cap (from the weight of being on it) slides to the side and then back into place, but like I said, no pain.

The next morning I woke up with my leg bent and slight relaxed to the side and I my knee cap literally felt like it slipped out of place and snapped back THE PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The knee feels unstable, so I am wearing a brace which makes my knee cap feel stable. If I move my leg a certain way again the knee CAP feels as if it slides to the side and then just snaps back into place and it hurts.

I have googled this...can't find anything, the knee cap appears to "free float" in pictures, but it FEELS like it is attached to rubber bands that snap it back in to place! The feeling is in all the knee cap - sliding and snapping into place and really hurts badly now.

Any thoughts on this....

Sorry! I have a knee that cracks when i bend down a certain way but that sounds awful is this something totally new? did you remember doing anything before it happened? I heard that Lyme can attack a knee and make it swell up but this sounds bizarre? well i hope you feel better and we put this knee under the blood of Jesus.

Hi Dana,

This is Heather. My chiropractor says that this is something that typically comes from athletes and it comes from joints being overworked and that Lyme complicates it every time.

He has me put Dr. Scholls or any appropriate arch support in my shoes to take the stress off my legs/knees. No heels allowed when its happening to me. If putting a brace on feels good, then do it; but otherwise not to leave it on b/c your knee becomes dependant on it, so I am to take it off every now and then.

Mom has me do the cold/hot. I pop it back and the pain goes away. I deal with pain regularly in my left knee with activity and esp. with my dance.

Mom has me on an anti-inflammatory diet and sometimes emu and arnica help with that too.

Mom said you walk alot. If you are going through what I do, it could be an athletes thing and you might just need more support for your ankles, knees, back, whatever.

I hope I was able to unprofessionally help. Love and hugs, Heth

Dana, I too see a chiropractor for many reasons - but since i found and bought chacos sandals about 1-2 yrs ago - (my husband too) we do not have to see our chiropractor half as much - it is like these shoes aline your body! last winter i wore the sandals all through the cold months but recently found that they make tennis shoes and bought those - these shoes are literally all that i wear - even around the house..........

Don't know how the weather is in CA - probably warm! :[ - ~i want to go where it's warm!!
But you should try them! they have a great arch - only shoes recommended by the american podiatrist!

Hope this helps! :)

Johnny - thanks for your post and yes, we cover the knee w/the blood of Christ, this is so weird..I can just see the lyme having a field day.

Heather - How are you? Thank you, yes, I walk quite a bit and never had knee problems, although joint pain off and on w/Lyme. I know, I picture the lyme having a field day. It seems so easy to injure myself since LD came about.

I had a feeling a knee brace would be ok once in awhile. I told Danny this yesteday, I compared to a tree with a stick brace, if you leave the brace in while the tree grows, the tree never strengthens to handle wind. I have been taking it off more because I was worried about this.
Thanks sweet one, I pray you are healing and doing well.

Jen- thanks -- I just read arch support is important. Like Diana said, where do you get the shoes, any links?

:ghug:

Dana, I know we've talked about this already, yes, happens to me too. I even bought these new arch supports, can't remember what they are called, there's even an infomertial on them, but u can still get them at target. wish I could remember the name of them, they are supposed to totally align your foot, leg, hips, etc, don't think it does any miracles for me, but I'll take what I can get for sure. walkfit, maybe that's it,... google that, see if that's it, lol.

Thank you J, maybe it will help my low back pain too.
I keep forgetting to tell you - I am on a "no lifting" vacation. I won't lift anything heavier than a grocery bag and my low back/sacrum and legs are feeling better.

I was wondering if your sacrum/back pain might be exasperated by picking up the kids..do you pick them up? If so take 2 weeks off from lifting them and see if your sacrum stops hurting as much.

I will check inserts now.
Thanks sweetie -
D
