Menopause.

Sorry, couldn't resist. How old are you? I went into menopause at 43 and read that early menopause is a symptom of Lyme. That's one of the ways that made me suspicious.

Only 32. haa haa. definately NOT menopause.

I know it's a herx because it comes right after my treatment only.

I usually don't sweat at all and now after the 1st and 2nd treatment .. I woke up drenched in sweat.

When I tried Doxy, I had horrible sweating herxing..(guess what? Looks like I am going back on Doxy oh, yippe) ...don't know which disease it directly related to, could be a combo of things. But I had at the time Lyme, Ehrlichia, Bart and viral issues...your guess is as good as mine, I want to say Ehrlichia, because no other abx has done that to me and I had not previously taken anything to kill ehrlichia.

BABESIA! Any of the family of malaria type organisms (blood parasites as opposed to 'normal' bacteria) cause terrible and constant sweating, expecially at night. Laine's are worse, like everything else, when she is herxing. And the malaria drugs cause the most awful herx (herxes?). With the progression of warmer weather my little lymie is in the middle of a constant hot flash. Her sister and I have to wear heavy jackets in the car even if it's in the 90's cause Laine must have the AC on supercharge.

I thought about Babesia, but I don't even think I have any of the other symptoms. This sweating didn't start until I started the new IV treatment. So I thought .. what the heck is this killing off? :)

I don't know if I'm getting a "cold" or a "sinus" thing or whether this is just a herx like a cold.

My throat hurts .. ears are achy ... lots of sweating (not as much as right after treatment) and I just noticed last night my nose is a little drippy.

I was nauseated, but I found the source of that.

I am very sensitive to smells. I kept smelling this sickly sweet smell and I thought it was just in my head. I finally asked hubby what it was and if he smelled it and he said 'OOh yeah I put that new thing you brought home in last night."

Well I had brought this 'thing' home because it was given to me, but I had planned to give it to my mother in law if she wanted it because I knew I wouldn't tolerate the smell.

Now I know I can't tolerate the smell .. It's been "out" for three hours and my nausea is much better.

crap, sounds like I definitly have babs then. When I first started my treatment I was a sweaty , nasty ick. I still seem to sweat easily, especially around herxing time.

Jaime - It really can be hard to tell about Babs. I think I know most of your symptoms, I don't think you do. What does your LLMD say? Drenching night sweats are really the tell all sign of Babs, although I know I have heard of a few who did not have night sweats. If you can get tested for it. It is test 200 on the Igenex form B.Microti IgG/IgM is $125 - submit the bill to your insurance, they should reimburse. Did you submit your last Igenex bill? Here is another symptoms list for babs: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=313
