Had my 2nd IV dose yesterday, which was 1g, the first was only 1/2. I have been cranky and major PMS this week but today it is even worse, I am thinking maybe mood swings could be from a herx. I seriously was close to rage today. Thankfully I can step back and gather myself together but it still is horrible.

I am so emotional, I cannot explain it. It is a horrible feeling. Plus I feel extra achy which I attribute to the IV and almost like i have a flu. Every noise, every voice, every word uttered hurts my head. Not fun for anyone to be around.

I go again tomorrow and tuesday, I am trying to get in as many as i can before I start work up again September 3rd. Let's hope my brain clears up before students return to school...j

Yes, Absolutely! They say babesia treatment with macrolides and mepron really bring this on. I am starting some babs treatment, although my tests are negative, I am sort of starting over here...I am going to hit some co-infections and see if anything changes and then a few more oral combo's then on to IV at some point.

But yeah...unfortunately, or fortunately it is killing in the brain and causes this to happen.

Hang in there..it is gonna get better, may take some time, but...pay off is coming!

Hugs,
Dana

Mood swings? I would say most certainly that could be a herx.
Lately I had been having SEVERE Anxiety, :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy: I did go thru a lot last week, but i narrowed it down to the Nuvigil my LLMD prescribed 2 me. I stopped it 3 days ago and am feeling better. They say Nuvigil says it's not a stimulant but it is used for CFS, Night shift Work, Narcolepsy etc. So it has 2 have some sort of speed in it.

Has anyone here tried it?

So i read up on it and found it can cause anxiety. So 2 all u out there b careful with this drug especially if u already have anxiety.

Julie, I hope u feel better SOON. When does school start up 4 u there?
Are u going 2 continue 2 do IV once school starts?
I like the way u r doing it, w/o a Picc or Port. So happy your LLMD is close enough you can go get the IV weekly.

Love ya,
Krissy :hb:

Yes Jaime that is exactly it. Like I am aware of how nasty i am being, but unable to stop it. I will start activated charcoal tomorrow. I hate feeling like this. I can't even tolerate voices, let alone my kids crying or even playing for that matter.

I cannot go on like this, but I don't want to stop the IV because I know it is killing that nasty bacteria.

Ugh. Thanks Julie

I had to chuckle about the noise comment.... a few weeks ago my hub was chewing gum, and snapping it, blowing bubbles etc, and it was driving me up the wall, I was literally pulling my hair out, and digging my nails into my arms, I actually made myself bleed! on a "normal" day it wouldn't make me so nuts, but I was in the middle of a herx, and it was just like "If you make ONE MORE SOUND!!!"
