Post subject:  Why am I so weak

I have been soooo fatigued and weak for at least a week - actually maybe arms are weak, my legs are weak, etc...I am so sleepy all the time, today I took a FOUR hour nap! Thank God my husband was so supportive of that! I am STILL tired, have no energy...

I started Diflucan about 5 or 6 days ago, I am thinking maybe I am having a candida herx as well as lyme herx. I am taking my probiotics faithfully. I am drinking water (well, some...)

I also have had tremendous neck pain again this week, so I am thinking it's a herx. I try to take the activated charcoal but it's hard to time it right, since I am always either taking the antibiotics, supplements or diflucan..

Thanks for listening, I am forcing myself to get up and make some dinner! :)

Hi Julie,
Herx. They can go on and on. I have been so weak during a herx I have felt like my legs would give out, shaky and horrible narcolepsy-like fatigue.

Diflucan is thought to hit Lyme as well! AND you can herx from Diflucan if you have yeast.

So being on abx and diflucan can be a hit.

Do you have access to an infrared sauna? Excellent detox, feels so good. We bought one (this one: ... -100657263 ) since we all 3 are dealing with this and it is so relaxing and excellent to sweat out toxins. Molly has a little one she bought on Ebay she loves (I think this is like hers: ... tsupported ) you can also buy sauna blankets on Ebay (like this one: ... tsupported ) - my LLMd highly recommends any of these. I recommend calling around to health clubs and see if they have infrared sauna's you can use.

Sounds like you are doing everything right - hang in there and hopefully when the herx passes you will go through a really good phase, I pray.

I never thought of Diflucan as causing a herx.....I have been taking it since June of 08, when diagnosed with Lyme. All of last year I took one 200mg a day. Most of this year I take it when I remember, about 4x a week.
I started the Tindimax (cyst buster) finally this weekend. I have only taken a half on Fri and half on Saturday and already I feel a herx coming on. Every bone and muscle in my body hurts. Thank God I have pain meds for times like this.

You should ask your LLMD for some pain meds to take ONLY while u r having a herx. It took my LLMD 10 months before he would prescribe me pain meds, it took me crying on the phone with him, begging PLEASE I hurt so bad.

Julie I pray for u 2 feel better soon. I find after a bad herx is over I always feel great, well not 100% but much better than before.

:hwings:  I will thinking about u.

Yeah, Diflcuan can cause herxing of yeast die off for certain and some LLMd's believe it hits LD.

In another country they use a Diflucan/penicillin protocol that seems to work pretty well.

More on the protocol here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=625

THANK U SO MUCH 4 the link on Diflucan. I am going to start taking mine EVERY day now.

So interesting. Thanks again, I had no idea how important Diflucan was to help eliminate Lyme.

yeppers, a yeast dieoff can cause a herx, so you could be doing double duty. try a warm bath with 2 cups of epsom salt if you can tollerate it.

I know when I first started treatment I felt like I herxed for months, then I fell into the schedule that some do of every 4-5 weeks. hang in there, just keep close to God, and keep remembering you are killing off those buggers ... I know it's easy to say that, but living it is another story, believe me I know.

I have to add to the detox method suggested by my mom. Try to get access to an infrared sauna if you can...some gyms have them. They make a huge difference for me as far as clearing my mind and fatigue. The key in my opinion is to get drenched in sweat completely...I sit in there for about 20-25 minutes @ 135-140 degrees F. You'll probably want to start much lower at about 100 degrees for 15 minutes and see how you do. :)
