here's a great , easy idea we can ALL do!

Everyone,

Remember May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month.

A fellow lymie from www.lymenet.org started a project in Massuchusettes that has now become spread all over the US; it's named after her, the Trish Project.

Trish originally named this AMERICAL LYME RIBBON PROJECT and I like that best but giving recoginition to Trish, Mass. for creating and sharing her wonderful idea nationwide and INTERNATIONALLY! :)

It is simple. In the month of May, tie a lyme green ribbon around a tree or on a car antenna! That's it.

If you want to expand on it, you can put up signs or make your own brochures or order free lyme brochures from,

http://www.canlyme.com/wordflyertext2.html.

Yep they're free, you can just put them in a box under a ribbon and let people take them...

Without the public's awareness we are getting nowhere, so let's get the word out about lyme disease! Thanks for your support!

I really like this idea. We started 'Tie a green ribbon' just here - at our home about 2 years ago and put brochures out in a little acrylic box. They all were scooped up. Whether it was curiosity or a realization of someone in need, they were all filtered out over a period of a couple of weeks. And we're just a small rural community. But in the spring, the word LYME in legible letters on Acrylic w/a big green ribbon, is an outstanding opportunity to spread the word even more.

TY for sharing this Jaime. A great ministry they have.

yeah, I thought it was a great idea, doesn't take much effort, and I'm sure we could really get the word out!

Kudos to you for doing it already!

Excellent ideas from both of you. I should put out a box of ILAD fliers at the park where ticks are. I have verbally warned people, but they think I am crazy..I saw a woman walking her dog, in the field next to the park in shorts yesterday, just like I use to. Ticks abound out in that field. Verbal warnings have had NO impact, maybe, just maybe the fliers would.

Ironically, May 2006 is when I received the cortisone shots that disseminated LD and viruses...I had never heard of Lyme Awareness month then, if only I had.
